The face of the C11 Makaira Titanium Elite Chronometer is black, made of anti-reflective crystal and encased in a satin-brushed titanium case. The strap is a stainless steel bracelet with a high-density rubber strap. A special helium release valve protects the watch during ascent. This limited edition watch comes with a unique engraved serial number and is finished off by the Latin motif on the back of the case – ‘Explorare Ad Profundum Altum’ – ‘Explore the depths’.

Features

Review

The C11 Titanium Elite is a Swiss made precision instrument, with a self-winding automatic chronometer that provides for a 38-hour power reserve when fully wound. After a period of non-use the watch can be re-powered by winding the crown for 20 revolutions.

The watch is COSC certified, which means that its movements meet the precision criteria of the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute.

The durability of the watch face, made of museum-grade AR08 anti-reflective sapphire crystal, is complimented by the strength of the satin-brushed titanium case, while the strap consists of a stainless steel bracelet with easy release butterfly clasp, combined with a high-density rubber dive strap, the preferred choice of material for professional divers.

The internal bezel of the watch allows divers to set their dive countdown, while the helium release valve ensures that trapped gas is released safely during ascension without damaging the watch.

Technical

This reassuringly solid watch is 13.2mm in height and 42mm in diameter. The case is made of titanium – the same strength as steel but 45 percent lighter.

The face is made of museum grade AR08 anti-reflective convex sapphire crystal and with high-density SuperLuminova™ markings and indexes.

The watchstrap is 22mm and made of high-density rubber, the preferred choice of most divers.

The mechanism of the watch is governed by ETA 2824-2 calibre movement – COSC-certified – and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour (vph). Protection against falls onto some surface types is provided by the Incabloc™ anti-shock system.

The C11 Makaira Titanium Elite is water resistant to depths of 50 atm, far deeper than almost any diver will go. It is recommended that after prolonged exposure to salt water the watch be washed in fresh water, as happens with regular diving equipment.
